Day01: Arrive in Kathmandu
You will be welcomed by our representative from Nepalese Mountain dreams and journeys pvt. ltd. at the airport for the transfer to your hotel. After checking in and relaxing, we will go through the tour in more detail and answer any questions you may have. The rest of the day is free we can show you around if you want. In the evening you are invited for welcome meal at a traditional Nepalese restaurant. Overnight hotel
Day 02: Mountain Flight & Kathmandu Sightseeing: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Boudhanath
Today is special, we are up early for a twenty minute drive to the domestic airport where we board one of the most dramatic flights in the world that takes us right into the heart of the Himalayas to the face of Mountain Everest and some spectacular panoramic views. After returning to the hotel for breakfast we start a guided tour to four of the seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are found in Kathmandu. We begin with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square are famous for the palace that was home to the medieval Malla Kings who ruled over the Kingdom. Pashupatinath is a famous holy cremation site on the banks of the holy Bagmati River a famous funeral site for the Hindus. From Pashaputinath we drive to the scared Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath, it is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage destinations. From Boudhanath we continue to Swayambhunath another sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site popularly known among foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. We start our tour of two more UNESCO World Heritage Site towns in the valley : Patan & Bhaktapur. Patan is situated five Kms south east of Kathmandu on the south bank of the holy Bagmati River (a tributary to the Ganges.)The town contains many Buddhist and Hindu temples along with fine bronze gateways and wonderful carvings. Patan is known for its expert metal craftsman.
and it is called The City of Fine Arts. From Patan we drive 20 kms to the medieval town of Bhaktapur, known as the Town of the Devotees, the town contains some wonderful medieval arts, architecture, culture, and lifestyle. A visit to the town is like travelling back into the past Bhaktapur thoroughfares, squares and narrow streets are something very special. Overnight at Kathmandu. B
Day 04: Drive to Chitwan
Today after breakfast we take our private bus to Chitwan around 150 kilometers from Kathmandu, a 5 hour very scenic drive. After checking into the hotel on the edges of the park and freshening up you will be briefed about the full guided nature program you will do over the next two days . The program includes an elephant safari and bathing with them, nature and jeep safaris, bird watching There will be a guided village walk and a walk on the banks of the Rapti River to watch the beautiful sunset views in the sub-tropical jungle. In the evening a dinner is held along with a cultural program by ethnic tribal people and tribal drums. Overnight at Chitwan.
Day 05: Full Day at Chitwan National Park including Jungle Safari
The Chitwan National Park has been declared by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Today you will discover why Chitwan National Park is such an important place in preserving the wildlife of Nepal. The Park contains rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison, gangetic dolphins and over 500 birds along with many butterfly species, as well as the near extinct Gharials crocodiles
Day 06: Drive to Pokhara & Sightseeing
Today we drive to Pokhara 4/5 hours stopping for lunch on the way. The drive again is very scenic as we drive further west into the mountains, following rivers for much of the day. Pokhara is a very beautiful small town with some magnificent views of the mountains of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara is also the gateway for trekking in the Annapurna Region. On arrival at Pokhara, people can choose to relax and perhaps do some boating on the beautiful lake or a sightseeing trip to some of Pokhara's marketplaces, old bazaars and landmarks. In the evening, explore the surrounding lakeside areas. Overnight at Pokhara hotel.
Day 07: Full Day Pokhara Sightseeing
We spend a full day exploring Pokhara. Early morning we drive to the Sarangkot Hill for some wonderful sunrise views over the Himalayas. After breakfast there is a day sightseeing. Enjoy walking along the banks of Phewa Lake with the stunning reflection of Fish Tail Peak in the waters. We take a boat across the lake and then take an hour's walk to the World Peace Pagoda. Some other places we visit today include the Seti River Gorge, Devi's Fall and the Mountain Museum. Overnight at Pokhara hotel. (B)
Day 08: Fly to Kathmandu. (B)
An early morning flight to Kathmandu (25 mins) and we are soon back at our hotel. Today is a day to relax and perhaps to some last minute shopping? There will be a farewell meal in the evening to share experiences together overnight hotel.
Day 09: Deparure.
Today the tour ends and fond farewells. Our representative will escort you to the airport in good time to catch your flight to your onward destination.
