Hindu Pilgrimage Tour

People of Nepal follow many religions, Hinduism and Buddhism are the most popular but there are also Christians and Muslims and they all live together in religious tolerance. Hinduism is the major religion, this tour is a good introduction into the ways and practices of Hinduism in Nepal. It also provides the chance to visit some important Buddhist places of worship.

Trip Introduction

DAY 01: Arrival in KATHMANDU

On your arrival our representative from Nepalese Mountain Dreams and Journeys will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After you have settled we go through the tour itinerary in more detail and answer any questions. The rest of the day is free one of our guides will show you around if you like. In the evening we have an welcome evening meal in a traditional Nepalese restaurant.




After breakfast we visit Pashupatinath temple- one of the oldest and most sacred Hindu temples in the world and a sacred pilgrimage and cremation place for Hindus from all over Asia. For those that wish to worship, time is made for a very special puja within the area of Pashupatinath. From Pashupatinath we visit  Swayambhunath which is also known as the monkey temple and one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in Nepal. From Swambhunath we take a short drive to Bhoudhanath where we take lunch. In the afternoon we visit the famous temple of Changnaryan the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley. From there we take a short ride to the heritage town of Bhaktapur before returning to our hotel.


DAY 03: Drive from KATHMANDU to BANDIPUR (5 hours including temple stopover)

After breakfast we start a scenic drive towards Bhandipur on the way to Pokhara. We stop for a cable car ride and a visit to one of the most popular and religious Hindu temples in Nepal  Manakamana. The temple is dedicated to the goddess who is believed to fulfill wishes. After lunch at Manakamana we continue on to Bhandipura where we stay overnight. Bandipur  is an old traditional town on a hill with some superb views of the Himalayas.

DAY 04: Drive from BANDIPUR to POKHARA (3 hours)

We wake up early in the morning to observe sunrise over the Himalayan ranges that tower above us and down into the beautiful valley below. After breakfast we continue our journey through the valleys, rivers and terraces fields to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara. After checking into our hotel in Pokhara we take lunch, after lunch we visit Barahi temple by boat situated in the middle of the lake. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.



Pokhara has some fantastic views of the Western Himalayan ranges. Our sightseeing begins with an early morning drive to Sarangkot high above Pokhara for a very special sight of the Himalayas at sunrise. We return to our hotel for breakfast and then proceed for a morning city sightseeing. We visit The World Peace Pagoda, Bandabisine Temple, Seti gorge, Devi’s Fall, Chhango and The Tibetan Refugee Camp. The afternoon is free for personal activities to enjoy this beautiful town. Some boating or just relaxing in one of the many restaurants that surround the lake. Dinner and overnight at hotel.



After breakfast we check out from our hotel to take a morning flight back to Kathmandu. The afternoon is free for last minute shopping etc. In the evening there is a farewell meal. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu



Today the tour ends and fond farewells. Our representative will escort you to the airport in good time to catch your flight to your onward destination
