Mardi Himal Trek

     This trip goes just in the central part of Annapurna Himalaya Range with a wonderful experience of Mountain views. So the trip is loved by many of the visitors though the route goes beyond the classical one. The breathtaking views of the beautiful mountains including three of them above 8000 meters and the most beautiful Fishtail of the whole Annapurna Range make your trip totally unforgettable. Annapurna region is also quite famous for varieties of birds and butterflies.

 

Day 1:  Arrival Kathmandu 1350m and Transfer to Hotel

Day 2: City-Sightseeing of Historical places as Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath:

Day 3: Drive / Flight to Pokhara 850m and transfer to the Hotel / Boating in the Phewa Lake

Day 4: Drive to Phedi and Trek to Pothana 1970m (About 40 Min. drive, 5-6 hours of walk)

Day 5: Pothana to Forest Camp 2500m   (5 to 6 hrs.)

Day 6: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp 3150m (about 4.5 hrs.)
Day 7: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp 3900m (about 5 hrs.)

Day 8: Day Excursion from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500m and back to High Camp (about 6 hrs.)

Day 9: Trek from High Camp to Siding Village 1750m (5-6 hrs.)

Day 10: Drive from Siding Village to Pokhara 850m (drive about 4 hrs.)

Day 11: Sightseeing in the Pokhara City

Day 12: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu

Day 13: Departure to your final Destination

 

Day 1:  Arrival Kathmandu 1350m and Transfer to Hotel

On arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be received by our representative and you will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu. According to your arrival time, you may have the time to walk around or enjoy your free time on your own.

 

Day 2: City-Sightseeing of Historical places as Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath:

On this day right after the breakfast, you will start your great full-day time to visit the historical world cultural heritage sites of Nepal. In the first half of the day, you will visit the holy Buddhist site on the hilltop of the western part of Kathmandu, where there will be many rhesus monkeys waiting for you. But be careful...! Sometimes they can be aggressive to destroy or grab your belongings. There you can see a large decorated massive Stupa along with many other temples. This hilltop is also a nice viewpoint for the whole Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayas seen on the northern part of Kathmandu. After you finish the sightseeing tour of Swayambhunath, you will proceed to the Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is also known as Kathmandu City. There is an old Palace built in the 17th century. Around the palace, there are many temples of Kali, Shiva, Vishnu, Kumari (the living Goddess), Krishna, Ganesha and many more. They are made of bricks and Sal wood. After the visit, you can have free time for lunch break.

On the second half, you will be taken to the holiest Hindu Temple of the World, called Pashupatinath known as the master of the animal world. The big temple with golden roof and silver-plated wall on the ground floor is only accessible for the Hindus. There are many other temples, mainly dedicated to Lord Shiva and also some others around the big temple premises. The most interesting thing for the foreigners is the open cremating site at bank of the holy Bagmati River, where mostly the Hindu dead bodies are brought.

Finally, you have the chance to visit the biggest Stupa of Nepal, named Bodhnath in the northern part of Kathmandu, which was constructed in the 5th Century AD. Thousands of Tibetan Buddhist refugees live around the stupa and in the morning and especially in the evening they come to circumambulate and pay homage to the Lord Buddha. They also light the butter lamps around the stupa. The atmosphere is really gorgeous.

 

Day 3: Drive / Flight to Pokhara 850m and transfer to the Hotel / Boating in the Phewa Lake

According to your preference to drive or fly to Pokhara, the transfer will be organized. If you want to fly, it takes 25 minutes from Kathmandu. During good weather you may see the nice mountain ranges on the right-hand side. The rest of the day you can enjoy walking along the lake and market or as you prefer to spend. According to your arrival, you can enjoy the boat ride in the Fewa Lake.

If you prefer driving from Kathmandu, it may take around 7 hours. Many traditional typed villages and various types of landscapes you can observe during the whole drive up to Pokhara. Finally, you reach Pokhara and you can enjoy your free late afternoon.

If the time and weather permit, you can enjoy boating in the Fewa Lake of Pokhara.

 

Day 4: Drive to Phedi and Trek to Pothana 1970m (About 40 Min. drive, 5-6 hours of walk)

Early morning right after the breakfast, you start the drive to Phedi about 20km from Pokhara. It takes about 40 Minutes of drive. Then the trek starts from here going through man-made stone steps up to Dhampus 1600m in about 3 hours. During the good weather, you can enjoy enormous view of the Annapurna range including Fishtail Himal. After your lunch break you go light upwards towards Pothana 1970m. You will stay here with nice view of mountains for this evening.

 

Day 5: Pothana to Forest Camp 2500m   (5 to 6 hrs.)

This day, you go first through the classical route about one hour to Pitam Deurali, and then you leave the classical route. From here onwards, you enjoy the solitary route with very low movement of tourists. You go through the mixed type of mid-upper rain forest with the chirping of birds and taste of less explored nature. During the spring season, you can enjoy the beautifully blooming rhododendron. Sometimes, you can also see barking deer, monkeys, and very seldom leopards as well. The sighting of Dhaulagiri is also quite fantastic for today. After many downs and mostly ups you arrive finally the Forest Camp for tonight stay.

Day 6: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp 3150m (about 4.5 hrs.)

You will start today with gradual less vegetation but with the nice view of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Barah Shikhar, Annapurna I etc. In about 4 to 5 hours you reach the Low Camp. You will have a quite different type of vegetation today having ferns, mosses, weeds, orchids etc.


Day 7: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp 3900m (about 5 hrs.)

As you start in the morning after breakfast, you will pass through a short uphill and steep climb. You will see almost grassy vegetations and ridges as you go up to High Camp. A breathtaking view of many peaks of Annapurna Range is enjoyed from here. If the weather permits, you will have the chance to view the golden glazed mountains during sunset and sunrise.

Day 8: Day Excursion from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500m and back to High Camp (about 6 hrs.)

After early breakfast you will start to Mardi Himal Base Camp. The whole day is enjoyed by you during the good weather. After reaching the highest ultimate destination, you will go back downwards to the High Camp again for the night.

Day 9: Trek from High Camp to Siding Village 1750m (5-6 hrs.)

Early in the morning you will walk down after your breakfast. Your way back goes via Low Camp and then after the trail descends through the forests and then to terraces of the local farmers. As you walk down, you will go finally along the Mardi River and finally reach the village of Siding. Today, you stay here in the lower altitude.

Day 10: Drive from Siding Village to Pokhara 850m (drive about 4 hrs.)

Today you will drive directly from Siding to Pokhara viewing the local villages and terraces of low mountain ranges. As you arrive to Pokhara, you will check in the hotel and rest of the time in the evening will be spent according to your choice along the lakeside.

Day 11: Sightseeing in the Pokhara City

This day, you have the opportunity to enjoy Sightseeing tour in Pokhara. You will visit old market and Bindabasini temple, Davi’s Fall, Tibetan Refugee camp little downwards of the Davi’s Fall and boating in the Fewa Lake. Late afternoon, we will have the free time to walk around along the Fewa Lake and market of Pokhara. As an alternative program, you can book paragliding as a part of mountain sightseeing flight in Pokhara.

 

Day 12: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu

According to your organized program, you will be transferred to Kathmandu from Pokhara either by surface or by air.

 

Day 13: Departure to your final Destination

As your flight program, the final departure will be organized from the hotel in Kathmandu. The reporting time for passengers is generally given before 3 hours. We hope, you dear valued guests; you have enjoyed the whole trip with us in Nepal.
