Langtang Gosiankunda Helambu Trek

 This trek takes you to the high upper reaches of the Langtang Valley before tracking back for a visit to The Sacred Lakes of Gosainkhund and a trek through the Helambu Region, the exit point is at Melamchi Phul (five hours to Kathmandu by road) The Sacrerd Lakes of Gosainkunda are a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus where it is said that Lord Shiva saved the world by swallowing a poison thunderbolt that was threatening lifes very existence.

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu. Welcome and pick up from airport / transfer to hotel. introductory program and briefing about the trip.

Day 02: City tour in Kathmandu. Sightseeing includes visits to many historical and architectural monuments of the ancient Kathmandu valley including Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey temple), Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square.

 Day 03 : 6 hrs.  Drive from kathmandu to  Syabrubensi  by private vehicle 'or' bus to 1460m and Trek starts points  

Day 04 : Syabrubensi to  Rimche 2455m. 'or' Lama hotel 2470m.

Trek for about 2 hrs along river / through forest ascend for about 1hr / reach Bamboo Village (1970 m.) Gradually ascend through bamboo forest/ reach Rimche / steep ascent to Lama Hotel / overnight

Day 05 :   Rimche  2455m. 'or'  Lama Hotel 2470m.  to Langtang (3470 m.)

Trek up through rhododendron and pine forest for about 3 hrs / reach Ghoda Tabela then walk for another two hours to reach Langtang ( biggest village in the area ) inhabited by Buddhist Tamangs and Tibetans / overnight.

Day 06 : Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3870 m.)

Trek gradually up for 3 hrs / to Kyanjing Gompa / local cheese factory and beautiful mountains /   trek up the moraine for some spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Mount Langtang Lirung 'or' ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m. 'or' 4773m. ) directly behind the village, for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks/ overnight.

Day 07 : Rest day at Kyanjin Gompa and excursion in and around. 

 This day climb up to Tserko Ri 4984m. for panorama views  and back to kyanjin ri and over night   

 Day 08 : Kyanjing Gompa  Rimchre 2455m.  'or' Lama Hotel 2470m.

Trek back by the same route

Day 09 : Rimche 2455m. 'or'  Lama Hotel  2470m. to Thulo Syabru  2250m. (Village)

The route climbs steeply through the forest, crossing the river, climbing up to Syabru Village.

Day 10 : From Thulo Syabru 2250m.  to sing gompa / chandanbari  3350m. 

Passing Schools and gompas the trail climbs steeply and to Dursagang (2660m). The trail further proceeds through the forest of hemlock and oak to the top of ridge at Foprang Danda (3190). Climbing and passing the government agriculture office you will reach to Sing Gompa which is the main attraction of Chandan Bari.    

Day 11: Sing Gompa 3350m.  to Lourebinayak 3910m.

From Sing Gompa the trail climbs gradually up to Chalang pati (3654m). From Chalang pati, you views of Langtang Lirung, the Mountains edging Tibet and the majestic forest full of rhododendron and pine. The trail ascends to Laurebina Yak.

Day 12 : From Lauribinayak 3910m. to Gosainkunda lake  4380m.

The route ascends up to a small temple with a statue of Sakyamuni and further climbing you can see good views of Saraswati kunda. After trekking some while you have excellent views of Bhairav Kunda and climbing gently you will reach to Gosaikunda

 Day 13 : From Gosainkunda 4380 to Ghopte(3430m).

The trail leads to the northern side of Gosaikunda Lake, crosses a moraine, passing three more small lakes; you will reach Laurebina La (4610m). The trail descends to a National Park Post at Bhera Goth (4240m) and to Phedi (3730m). From Phedi the route drops and climbs through scrub bamboo to Dupichaur (3630m) and descends finally to Ghopte.

Day 14 : From Ghopte 3430m. to Melamchi Gaun/ melamchi ghyang 2230m.

The trail continues up ravines and across the boulders of old moraines below the wreckage of a plane that crashed in 1992, then make a final ascent to Tharepati on the ridge at 3490m from where we can see Helambu region. We will reach Tharepati at noon. From Tharepati about 3 hours steeply down through the oaks and rhododendron forests. When we cross a stream on a suspension bridge down, the trail makes a short final climb to reach the prosperous Sherpa village of Malamchigaun at 2230m. We will reach here early and rest of the time we can just stroll around the village. Melamchi gaun is very nice village. It has glossy gompa with a line of prayer flags at the front and brightly painted walls and statues.

 Day 15 : Melamchi Gaun/ melamchi ghayang  2230m. to Tarkegyang 2600m.

After breakfast trek to Tarkeghyang and it takes about five hours. The early part of the trek descends until you cross the stream named as Melamchi khola then you trek gently up to Tarkeghyang passing through Sherpa settlements. Tarkeghyang is a beautiful Sherpa village with one of the oldest and biggest monasteries in Helembu region. Tarkeghyang, also known as Helambu is named after the Helmu caste which is belongs to Sherpa ethnic group. The Sherpa people living here originally belong to Helmu caste.. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 16 : Trek from Tarkeghyang 2600m. to Shermathang (2590m.)

It takes about five hours. This day the trail is easier through flat land with beautiful forests on the way. You trek on crossing some small streams on the way. There is situated a beautiful village on the half way to Shermathang. Shermathang is another pretty Sherpa village where you can visit many ancient monasteries. There you can see Jugal Himal range at the north face of Shermathang village. Stay overnight at lodge.

 Day 17 : From Sermathang 2590m. to Melamchi  pool / melamchi bazar 870m.  

After breakfast trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar and it takes approximately five hours. The trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. On the way, you come across several old villages with their own particular tradition. Walking this day is quite pleasant with mountain views and interaction with local. Stay overnight at lodge

Day 18 : From Melamchi Pul / melamchi bazar to Kathmandu by private jeep 'or' publick bus

Drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu it takes about five to six  hours by private vehicle' bus  You travel through gravel and bumpy path up to Zero Kilo and then you follow the pitched road up to Kathmandu.

Day 19 : As per the flight schedule, transfer to airport for final departure with beautiful memorie
