Eeverest Gokyo – Everest Base Camp

Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lake is among the most popular routes through the majestic Khumbu region. On your way to Everest Base Camp 5364 m via Gokyo lake, you will overlook the splendid valley of Gokyo and cross Cho La Pass 5367 m. It will be a wonderful experience as you walk through beautiful mountains and lovely villages of Sherpa.

You will climb to the base of the formidable Mount Everest at 8848 m with spectacular views from viewpoints such as Gokyo Ri 5357 m and Kala Patthar 5545 m. The first two days will be spent visiting the world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley. We will visit a few world heritage sites around the valley, naming them; Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath ( also known as the Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. They signify an amazing fusion of the Hindu and Buddhist religions that we established in the ancient periods. Entry fees are inclusive. By evening you will be driven back to your hotel. The trek will begin on the third day at Lukla, where we will take a 25 min flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We will begin our hike along the trails marked with Mani walls and ascend to Phakding. We will follow the trail accompanying the Dudh Kosi. We will ascend through Himalayan pine and Deodar cedar forests into the well-known village of Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche is an important trading station where Nepalese and Tibetan traders trade salt, dried meat and textiles. Other than being an excellent place to shop for traditional crafts, Namche is also the primary trading post in the Khumbu and draws the lowland and Himalayan merchants. We will spend the next day in Namche for acclimatization and fill the day exploring local markets and contribute time with our team.

We will see the nearby local monastery on our way to Tengboche. The temple has beautifully adorned wall hangings; a Buddha’s sculpture measuring 20 feet and the Lamas musical instruments and robes. We will descend along the way to Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. The Kala Patthar peak at 5,545 m is popular for its magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse and other snowy mountains of the Everest region. The route will be somewhat more challenging because of the prevalence of ice and slopes from Kala Patthar, towards Gorak Shep. We will ultimately cross the Glacier, after hiking over the ridge for almost one and a half hours, and toward the EBC area. Finally, we will reach the Everest base camp (5360m). Crossing Cho La Pass at Dzongla, then Thagnak, we will reach Gokyo. We can take a tour of the glaciers and greenish-blue lakes of the Gokyo valley as well as appreciate the stunning landscapes of the Himalayan behemoths like Everest, Lhotse Makalu, Cho-Oyu, and many others. We will retrace our steps back down to Namche leaving behind Phanga, Luza, Kele. We will be accompanied by views of Cholatse and Taboche. We will descend into the alpine woods and pass by several small monasteries to arrive at Namche Bazaar. From Namche, we shall trek back to Lukla and take a flight reliving the moments enjoying the aerial view of the rural side of Nepal. Contingency day will be utilized in case any foreseen circumstance occurs. If not, we can stroll around the streets and buy souvenirs to take back home. In the evening, we will organize a farewell dinner to mark the success of our joyous adventure. On the last day, one of our representatives will drop you at the International Airport a few hours before your scheduled flight after having your breakfast. We believe we will get to see you soon for more adventures.
